It really comes down to what you want to walk away with. Here's a simple guide:
The Essential Package — You want beautiful, timeless photography and don't need video. Perfect for elopements, small ceremonies, or couples who simply prefer photos over film.
The Classic Package — You want both photo and video covered in one. A photographer and videographer work together to capture your day, and you'll receive a 3–4 minute highlight film plus a social media reel alongside your photos.
The Signature Package — You want the complete cinematic experience. Drone footage, multiple camera angles, a longer film, and a full speeches recording added on top. Our most popular choice for full wedding days.
The Premium Package — You want absolutely nothing missed. 10 hours of coverage, 600+ photos, a full ceremony film, two social media reels, priority delivery, and the highest level of crew on your day.

Priority Delivery is included exclusively in The Premium Package. It means your full edited gallery and all films are fast-tracked to the front of our editing queue and delivered within 3 weeks of your wedding day — rather than the standard 6–8 week turnaround. It's ideal for couples who want to share their images and films quickly, or who have time-sensitive plans like a honeymoon announcement or family gathering soon after the wedding. For other packages, rush delivery can be added for an additional fee — just ask when you enquire.
Drone footage refers to aerial video and photography captured by a remotely piloted camera — giving you sweeping, cinematic shots of your venue, the surrounding landscape, and your ceremony from above. It adds a genuinely breathtaking perspective to your film. Drone coverage is included in The Signature Package and The Premium Package. It requires Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) compliance and is subject to location restrictions — we handle all permits and will let you know in advance if your chosen location has any limitations.
Yes — all prices listed on our website are in New Zealand dollars and include GST. There are no hidden fees. Any additional charges (such as travel outside our standard zone, rush delivery, or add-on services) will be clearly itemised in your quote before you commit to anything.
Booking & Availability
Peak season dates — October through April, particularly December and January — typically book out 3–7 months in advance. If you have a specific date in mind, especially over summer or the holiday period, we'd strongly recommend reaching out as soon as possible. Off-peak bookings (May–September) generally have more flexibility. That said, a quick enquiry to check availability costs nothing and takes two minutes.
Life doesn't always go to plan — we understand that completely. Postponements made with more than 90 days' notice can be transferred to an available date at no additional charge. Cancellations within 90 days of your wedding date will require payment of the full balance, as we will have turned down other bookings for your day. We strongly recommend taking out wedding insurance to protect your investment — it's one of the best decisions you can make. We're happy to point you in the right direction if you need a recommendation.
Yes — travel within a 2-hour drive of Queenstown (covering Wanaka, Arrowtown, Glenorchy, and surrounds) is included in all packages at no extra cost. For Christchurch, Dunedin, Lake Tekapo, or destinations further afield, a transparent travel fee is included in your quote. We also travel internationally for destination weddings — couples have brought us to Australia, Europe, and beyond. Just ask and we'll work it out.
Coverage & Filming
Multi-camera operation means we have more than one camera running simultaneously during key moments of your day — typically your ceremony and speeches. This gives us multiple angles at once: a wide shot showing the full scene, a closer shot of your expressions, and a second angle for the guests or officiant. The result is a far more dynamic, cinematic film that captures the full emotion of the moment from perspectives a single camera simply cannot achieve. Multi-camera operation is included in The Signature Package and The Premium Package.
A Highlight Film is a short, emotionally crafted cinematic edit of your entire wedding day — typically set to music, capturing the feeling and story of your day in 3–8 minutes. Think of it as a short film about your wedding. It's included from The Classic Package upwards.
A Full Ceremony Film is an unedited, continuous recording of your entire ceremony from start to finish — vows, readings, ring exchange, the lot. It's a complete record rather than a cinematic edit, and it's exclusively included in The Premium Package. It's particularly valued by couples whose family members couldn't attend in person, or who simply want to relive every word of their ceremony.
Your Social Media Reel is a 60–90 second, portrait-format (vertical) edit of your wedding day — designed specifically for sharing on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. It's fast-paced, punchy, and optimised for social media viewing on phones. Your Highlight Film is horizontal (landscape format), longer (3–8 minutes), and crafted for watching on a TV or laptop — it tells your full story with depth and emotion. Both serve very different purposes, and together they give you the perfect content for every screen and platform.
For family formals and must-have group photos — absolutely. A short list is really helpful and we'll work through it efficiently so nothing gets missed. For everything else, we'd gently encourage you to trust our instincts. Our documentary approach means we're constantly reading the room and anticipating moments before they happen. Too rigid a shot list can actually work against that. Before your wedding day we'll have a thorough pre-wedding consultation where we talk through all the moments that matter to you, so nothing important is overlooked.
New Zealand weather — especially in Queenstown — is famously changeable, and honestly, some of our most beautiful images have come from overcast or dramatic skies. We always have backup location options ready and adapt our approach to whatever the day brings. For drone footage specifically, Civil Aviation rules prohibit flying in certain wind and visibility conditions — if this applies, we'll notify you in advance and discuss alternatives. For heli-weddings, we work closely with your helicopter operator and have a clear rebooking protocol in place.
Delivery & Editing
48-Hour Sneak Peek: All packages include a curated sneak peek of 20–30 edited images delivered within 48 hours of your wedding day — something beautiful to share straight away while you're still glowing.
Full Photo Gallery: Delivered within 6–8 weeks across all packages.
Highlight Film & Social Media Reel: Delivered within 6–8 weeks. Films take longer due to the complexity of editing.
Priority Delivery (The Premium Package only): Your full gallery and all films are delivered within 3 weeks of your wedding day, fast-tracked through our editing queue.
The number of delivered photos depends on your package — The Essential and Classic Packages include 200+ edited images, The Signature Package includes 300+, and The Premium Package includes 600+. These are fully edited, colour-graded images — not unprocessed selects. We never deliver a set number and stop; if your day produces more great moments, you'll receive more photos. Every image in your gallery has been individually edited and is download-ready at full resolution.
Your photos are delivered via a private, password-protected online gallery where you can view, download, and share your images at full resolution. Your films are delivered via private Vimeo links — easy to watch on any device and simple to share with family and friends. Both your gallery and film links are yours to keep indefinitely. We recommend downloading your images to a personal hard drive or cloud storage as a backup.
RAW photo files are not included in any package. Our editing is a core part of what makes VOWLY images look the way they do — the colour grading, tone, and processing are as much a part of our work as the photography itself. Delivering unedited files wouldn't represent our best work or yours. If you have a specific reason for needing RAW files, please mention it when you enquire and we'll discuss what's possible.
General
We'll always do a pre-wedding consultation — either via video call or in person — about 4–6 weeks before your day. This is where we go through your full timeline, talk about the moments that matter most to you, discuss any family formals, and make sure we're completely prepared. For couples booking from overseas, all of this works perfectly over video call. Many of our clients have never met us in person before their wedding day — and it works beautifully every time.

We've had the privilege of documenting weddings for couples from all walks of life, and we're proud of it. VOWLY is an inclusive, welcoming team — your wedding is about you, and we're simply here to capture it.
We take this seriously. Every VOWLY team member shoots with professional-grade backup equipment — multiple camera bodies, lenses, batteries, memory cards, and audio recorders. In the highly unlikely event of a critical equipment failure, we have backups ready to go immediately. In the extremely rare case of a serious illness or emergency, we have a network of trusted professional photographers and videographers we work with closely, and we would do everything in our power to ensure your day is covered at the same level of quality. We carry full professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
Yes — and we'd actually encourage it. Highlight reels are edited to show the very best moments, but a full gallery shows you the consistency, depth, and variety of our work across an entire day. We're happy to share a full wedding gallery under a confidentiality agreement once we've had an initial conversation. Just mention it when you get in touch and we'll organise it.
